Alderman Ricky L. Moore was born in Oak Park, Illinois. He was raised in Burbank, Illinois and attended Reavis High School. After High School he enlisted in the United States Navy for a four year tour and served aboard the U.S.S. Dubuque, LPD 8, stationed in San Diego California, home of the Seventh Fleet. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1979 he worked as a crane operator for several years at Regal Tube in Bedford Park while attending college taking computer classes.
In the late 1980's Alderman Moore changed careers and accepted a job in the computer industry. Over the years he has worked as a Computer Technician, Network Engineer, Project Manager and Network Operations Manager.
In the fall of 2001 Alderman Moore accepted a full-time faculty position at Moraine Valley Community College where he teaches Computer Networking classes. He holds a number of Information Technology industry certifications such as A+, Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCAI, MCSE, CNA and CNE.
Alderman Moore has lived in Palos Hills with his wife Judy and family for the past seven years. As well as teaching and serving on the City Council Alderman Moore is pursuing his bachelors degree at Governor's State University in Information Technology. As an he chair's Administration and Golf.
