On Saturday, April 28th, 2018 the City of Palos Hills, will be doing a city wide tree planting. Two hundred, two inch diameter trees will be planted in City owned parkways.
The actual tree planting will be a volunteer event with all two hundred trees being planted on April 28th between the hours of 8am – 12pm. Volunteers will be working with city officials planting the trees. We strongly encourage residents if possible to volunteer to help plant the tree in front of your home and possibly a neighbor as well.
The City will be supplying the tree, JULIE dig ticket, mulch, digging tools if needed, removal of spoils from the planting, and a T-shirt. If you are interested in a tree please rank them one through five with one as the most desirable tree that you would prefer. Residents who sign up to help volunteer in the planting, and/or have no existing parkway trees will be given priority in tree allocations. The City will contact you with planting day details if your address is chosen to receive a tree. If you any a questions feel free to call (708) 430-4500.
A request form has also been mailed out with the March 1, 2018 water bill.
