Dear Residents,
Please call 9-1-1 if you see anything suspicious. The phone numbers for Southwest Central Dispatch are 9-1-1 or 708-598-2151. With immediate notification to the police, officers will be able to address any situation to keep us safe.
Tornado Sirens: Outdoor sirens are typically designed to warn people who are outdoors that severe weather is approaching. If you are in a structure, beaware of dangerous weather and move to a safe area.
Termites: All states, except Alaska, have termites. Please notify your neighbors if you have dealt with this situation so they can check their property.
Field of Honor: Please support our veterans! On September 10, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Moraine Valley Community College there will be a brief ceremony and you can walk among the rows of flags knowing that each Unites States flag represents a veteran and tells a story. Digging: If you will be digging on your property, please be sure you contact “Julie” at 8-1-1 or 1-800-892-0123.
Scams: People who scam are getting more creative. If you receive a phone call generally about a grandchild needing money because they might be ill or maybe, you might be told they have been arrested. Please do not say your grandchild’s name. If you are told the caller is from the I.R.S. or there is a warrant for your arrest, do not send money or gift cards. Our police and fire departments DO NOT solicit money over the phone.
Curfew: Anyone 17 years of age or younger must be accompanied and supervised by a parent, legal guardian, or other responsible adult at least 18 years of age.
- 11:30 P.M. – 6:00 A.M. Friday and Saturday.
- 10:30 P.M. – 6:00 A.M. Sunday through Thursday.
Yard Waste: Stickers are available at no charge at City Hall. Yard waste is collected until the last pickup day in November.
Jury Duty: Once you become 70 years of age you are no longer required to serve as a juror.
