The Palos Hills Police Department would like to remind the public regarding the City of Palos Hills E-Bicycles / E-Scooters Ordinance.

Low Speed E-Bicycle

  • Allowed on streets with a posted speed limit of 20 mph or below
  • Not permitted in public parks
  • No allowed on sidewalks
  • Must wear a helmet if under the age of 16
  • Must abide by rules of the road

Low Speed E-Scooter

  • Allowed only on sidewalks
  • Must be 18 years old or older to operate
  • Maximum speed is 10MPH
  • Not permitted in public parks

High Speed E-Bicycles and Scooters

  • Must abide by the rules of the road
  • Not allowed on sidewalks, bike paths, or trails
  • Not permitted in public parks
  • Must be a licensed operator in Illinois
