Dear Residents,

I would like to up-date you on the latest COVID 19 IMPACT on the City of Palos Hills. As you recall, on June 28, the State of Illinois opened up more activities in their Phase 4 enactment. Since that time the City of Palos Hills, by way of the Cook County Health Department statistics, have shown our City has experienced a 35% increase in reported COVID 19 cases. Approximately 100 people in Palos Hills have contracted the COVID 19 virus since June 28th. As was previously announced by the State of Illinois, any county that reaches a 7 day rolling positivity rate up to 8% will be required to go back to Phase 3 – limited activities.

The City of Palos Hills over the last 2 weeks has stepped up its enforcement with businesses in our City making sure their employees wear masks. If you encounter a business that is in violation of this State mandate, please contact the City of Palos Hills. Also important, I strongly encourage residents and patrons of these businesses to also wear masks.

The residents of the City of Palos Hills were very cooperative, understanding and successful in the earlier phases of the COVID 19 spread and that cooperation led to the opening of the current Phase we’re in now. Please – let us not go backwards! Please continue to – Wear Masks – Social Distance and Avoid big crowds.

Again, your cooperation is for the benefit and safety of all. Any further important changes regarding the Health statistics in Palos Hills – I will continue to up-date you.

Thank you for your cooperation and “Please Stay Safe”.

Jerry Bennett
Mayor
