Message from the Mayor: 10/26/2020

October 26, 2020

Dear Residents,

The Illinois Department of Public Health announced today that effective 12:001 am on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 all restaurants and bars will not be able to have indoor dining until such time that these restrictions will be lifted by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Cook County has seen a dramatic increase in the positivity rate hospitalizations which have gone beyond the bench mark for these additional mitigations by the State. The City of Palos Hills has a 42% increase in COVID cases over the last 14 days. The City went from 580 cases on October 1 to 675 cases as of today.

These new restrictions specifically detailed further in this letter again will be lifted if the positivity rates go down in Cook County. Restaurants can still continue with carry out – pick up – or delivery services.

I ask all residents to please follow the Public Health guidelines and wear a mask – keep a safe distance – and not gather in large groups. I will notify all residents and businesses if there are any further changes regarding this State Order – hopefully sooner than later.
